TRIP DETAILS
Get ready to experience some of the worlds most scenic rivers with top rated  Silver Salmon, King Salmon, Northern Pike, Sheefish, and Grayling runs! Living in Alaska's Wilderness playground, and being based on the bank of the Mighty Kuskokwim River, we  are very familiar with the local waters and know were to find the big  fish. Whether you are a hard core fisherman or a beginner, we can help you  catch the fish you want. We use many different techniques fishing in the area and we are happy to share our proven methods with you during this trip.  We have a great group  of guides that allows us to accomodate large parties of fisherman. Nothing is  more fun than getting a group of 10+ buddies together for a week long fishing  derby.

This trip typically includes fishing and exploring both from a base camp as well as from the comfort of Hotel McGrath, where you'll enjoy a hot shower, comfortable bed and amenities such as wireless internet and DishNetwork TV.  Hotel McGrath provides iPhones for guests at no charge, so you can phone home to brag about your day's catch.

We encourage parents to bring their children along on all of our soft-adventure trips, and this one is perfectly designed for adventures of all ages.  There is no additional tour or room charge (while in McGrath) to include your children on this tour.
ITINERARY
What follows is a general flow of events. Expect the unexpected and prepare to be flexible.
Day 1: You'll depart Anchorage via Alaska Air Transit's bush Grand CaravanEX airplane.  The 75 minute flight will take you up and over the majestic Alaska Range.  This flight will give you opportunities to view and photograph this magnificent mountain range.  Once you arrive in the village of McGrath, a Real Alaska Tours representative will meet you in the lobby of Hotel McGrath.  You'll have some time to get settled into your private room or spacious suite before a trip briefing and gear check in the lobby, followed by a hearty and delicious dinner served at the hotel's restaurant.  The midnight sun shines brightly in McGrath so you'll have the evening hours to explore the village and it's friendly residents.

Day 3:  : Breakfast at the hotel followed by a 1 hour boat ride down the Kuskokwim river for a full day of Sheefish fishing at birch creek. You might also catch a salmon and/or northern pike here.   Lunch, more fishing then back to McGrath for dinner.  Be sure to stop by the tavern located next to the hotel to share your amazing stories about your day's catch.

Day 4:  Breakfast at the hotel followed by a 1.5 hour boat ride down the Kuskokwim river to Wilson's slough for a half day of monster pike fishing. Lunch will be prepared and served around a camp fire.   We'll take another 1 hr boat ride to Vinasale slough where we will camp and continue to fish for monster pike from the grassy banks or from a kayak/canoe where you can explore the entire lake.  Your guide will point out an old USPS Outpost that was used decades ago to board sled dog teams that carried the mail between villages.

Day 5: Breakfast, coffee and more pike fishing as your guide packs up camp.  We will continue another 3 hours down the Kuskokwim river to the Tatlawiksuk river where you can fish for  Silver or King Salmon for the rest of the day while your guide sets up camp and prepares your lunch and dinner.  We will have a freezer and vacuum packer at the camp as well as a fish cutting station.  While you fish all day, your guide will be processing, packaging and freezing your catch.
